Masters Degree Description

With the increasing reliance on technology across industries, there is a need for skilled computer science professionals. We have tailored this programme for graduates seeking to enter the fast-paced and high-demand field of computing, even if you lack a computing background.

Throughout this degree, you’ll acquire concepts, techniques, and technologies that will prepare you to investigate real-world problems and develop systems or solutions to address them. These skills are specifically designed for the modern professional landscape of computing.

Access to resources such as laboratories, research facilities, the Library and academic databases will facilitate your learning, research and exploration. You’ll have the freedom to shape your studies by designing and executing your own independent Master’s project, while receiving one-to-one support from your supervisor.

Real-world case studies will be used throughout the course, and you’ll also have the opportunity to carry out a professional work placement, putting into practice what you’ll learn in your taught sessions.

The full-time Professional Placement option offers you the chance to enhance your qualification by spending a year completing an industry placement or engaging with a research project at the University. Although we cannot guarantee placements for students, we will provide you with practical support and advice on how to find and secure your placement.

By the time you graduate, you’ll possess both theoretical understanding and practical abilities in computer science. You will be well-prepared to apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios and make valuable contributions in the field.
