Advance your studies in Physics with Strathclyde in 2025

At Strathclyde, four divisions – Nanoscience, Optics, Plasma and the Institute of Photonics – all contribute research-based teaching expertise to the delivery of the MSc Advanced Physics.

You can choose taught elements relevant to your career interests from a wide range of topics, including:

  • theoretical & computational physics
  • quantum optics and quantum information
  • complexity science
  • physics and the life sciences
  • solid-state physics
  • plasma physics

You'll put the knowledge gained in the taught components to use in a cutting-edge research project, which can be theoretical, computational or experimental.

Scholarships

  • Scholarships of £5,000 are available to eligible new international students joining a postgraduate taught masters degree in the Faculty of Science in September 2025
  • Scholarships of £7,000 to £8,000 will be awarded on merit to eligible new international students joining a postgraduate taught masters degree in the Faculty of Science in September 2025
  • Scholarships of £1,400 are available to new UK fee-paying students joining a postgraduate taught masters degree in the Faculty of Science in September 2025
