Study Details: PGDip Up to 3.5 years part-time
The Postgraduate Diploma provides thorough training for today’s higher education career and employability professional. It is delivered in conjunction with the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and taught in partnership with them. It is also approved by the Career Development Institute (CDI)Link opens in a new window as meeting the qualification requirement for the UK Register of Career Development ProfessionalsLink opens in a new window.
The course consists of six 20 credit modules: two core and four optional. You will start with the core modules, firstly, Career Development Theories and then Challenges of Careers Work in Higher Education.
2:2 in any discipline.
If you have alternative qualifications and relevant experience, you are welcome to discuss these with the course team. You must be working in a higher education career and employability development context and able to produce written work of a good standard.
Duration
The course lasts up to 3.5 years and you are able to complete earlier if your circumstances allow.

AGCAS courses are run by AGCAS and separately charged.
For publicity purposes, the Career Development Theories; Employer/Entrepreneur Engagement and Labour Markets; Marketing Communications and Engagement; and Research in Professional Practice workshops are advertised in the AGCAS calendar but are not run by AGCAS and do not carry a separate charge.
Former students now occupy a range of roles in higher education careers work including management, education and career coaching. Many students progress from the PG Diploma CEIGHE to the MA CEIGHE. If you wish to continue to the MA, you may wish to choose the optional module Research in Professional Practice on the Diploma to avoid taking an extra module on the MA.
